The Family

Wine growing has been the the Edel family’s passion since 1747.

Originally in the village of Mittelwihr, they established themselves at the Bouxhof in 1925.

In 1960 François Edel took over and guided the domain towards new horizons not least by participating in many exhibitions. He was one of the first to open up a tasting cellar on the famous “Route du Vin” (Wine route) to supply directly from the producer to the consumer.

His philosophy of dedicated and skilful work and his quest for quality are values which he passed on to his son who joined him in 1985.

Respect for nature, ecological methods of insect control, yield limitation, selection of grape varieties and soil care are amongst the top priorities of the Domaine today.

C’est Jean Michel qui dirige l’exploitation depuis 1992, secondé par son épouse Gillian. Après des études en Bourgogne et des expériences professionnelles sur le terrain en France et à l’étranger, leur fils Christopher a rejoint l’exploitation en 2018.

Direct sales are given importance at the tasting cellar or at fairs.
